Looking to get into the magazine industry?
I am hoping to get into writing for magazines when I’m older. I’m only in year 10 now and later in the year will be doing work experience at Dolly Magazine (I’m in Australia btw, it’s kind of like Seventeen Magazine for you americans) and if I enjoy that I would love to work with magazines after I finish school. I was just wondering, what sort of degree do you study in university? Would it be a Bachelor of Journalism?

Hey, I’m wanting to get into the Magazine industry too and I’m currently studying Journalism at uni. My tutor at uni used to work for ‘The West Australian’ (If your not in W.A, It’s the major newspaper here) and explained that its quite hard to get work in magazines as they don’t hire often and when they do, they generally want someone with university level education and experience (Also the interview process is apparently hell intense). If you managed to get a place at Dolly doing work experience then you are already off to a good start
