How to cope with my mother's hoarding?
Yesterday, we got rid of many things. She thinks that everything has a use. I was going to launch a book Hello Kitty was to mourn the verge of saying that someone can use. She also refuses to get rid of cookbooks (if cooked). She also made journals since the mid-80s, saying they have "recipes." my mother's solution is an organization for all of them. I have to destroy / shred around on February 31 gallon storage containers from top to bottom of paper (invoices, canceled checks, etc..) Now, she refuses to part with storage tanks used for holding large, which still occupy the same space, they have all the tricks. What should I do, there is still much to do in terms of the house now same!? Everything else is FILES. stupid things, which are available online, or just old! She is 51 I am the third of four about to go to college.
I suppose it's sentimental value for magazines and cookbooks. But I have no idea why they keep these large containers. For newspapers, why not reduce income and paste it into a notebook or something?
