Moving to New York after graduation?

I need advice, fast. I graduated in December with a degree in journalism and as I am a former major design fashion I have the intention of returning to school design. I am applying for Parsons in New York for the spring 2011 semester, but I need a job aligned even before making plans to attend design school. This is the part I need help. Since I am in Washington, DC, it is too early to start looking for a job in New York to begin in January next year? In addition, it is even possible to apply to magazines, when in reality, I will not my diploma in hand until December? It is May I begin the application process of Parsons, but I need a first job and a place to live and then everything will fall into place … Hopefully! Any and all advice would be super appreciated.

New York has a fully saturated job market. Mad fools all requests for the same jobs. The chances of nailing a job for the month of January are very, very fine (sorry). Best advice – use this summer in a practical bag, which'll probably pay. Try to stay with friends and maybe a bag of free part-time concerts have meters and replacement rates of cash. The practices will be displayed great initiative, and to show what committed you are. More to gain experience and build your resume. If you do not know anyone in New York, go to couchsurfer.com and start surfing. This is a site for Those drugs are in agreement with lettin 'fools of accidents on their couches – often free – for periods of time. Good luck.
