Is it okay to switch my comcast cable box for a new one (of the same provider)?
Not only that the cable box wouldn’t turn off when I pressed the power button on both the box and the remote, There’s been some problems with on demand as well. Logo On Demand, Anime Network (VOD)* and the free part of FUNimation Anime (VOD) are all absent when they were supposed to be in the Kansas City Missouri area! About the third one, I looked up the schedule for FUNimation VOD on Kansas City, MO and it listed Baccano as a free show, and I only have the paying shows (example; 1 episode of Claymore is 99ยข) which means I missed out on more new episodes of Baccano and more of the free shows! I have the Logo channel, but not the VOD, which was there a while ago. Can any of this be resolved by changing my cable box?

Yes you can get a new box. Just call your provider and some have stores where you can take the old box and get a new one in exchange and others mail you a new one and you mail back the old one in the same box. So call them, tell them yours is broken and request an exchange.
You might also just unplug your cable box from the wall for a few minutes, replug it and see if it’s fixed. Sometimes the reboot fixes it.
