What are the copyright laws regarding using silhouettes of famous landmarks and/or buildings?
Im working on a logo for a client and they are requesting a silhouette of a famous structure without license or documented permission of use and I was wondering if there are any such copyright laws against this? I’ve never ran across this scenario before as a designer so I’m not sure about this one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
In most cases it is ok, but some shapes or silhouettes are trademarked by companies or protected by governments. If it’s very well known then it may be protected. I would check first.
